• We are collecting donation to support the hurricane victims. Please write down ‘Charity Fund—Hurricane Victims’ on the envelopes. Please write check payable to ‘CUMC’. Donation will then collected and send to the UMCOR to help the victims.
• Nominating Committee will meet today at 1:00 PM in the 3/F. Members of the committee are Ms. Christie Ng, Mrs. Miranda Wong, Mrs. Donna Yee, Mrs. Gayle Kong, Miss Katrina Sun, Mrs. Holly Yee, Mrs. Dianne Wong, Mr. James Huang, Mrs. Josephine Wong and Rev. Ernest Kan (Chair).
• The Methodist Fellowship will meet today in the Chapel from 2:00 to 3:30 pm. Members please come.
• The Mission Committee will be meeting on 10/15 from 2:00—4:00 pm in the 4/F.
• All committees are reminded to submit a 2018 budget request to the Finance Committee before 10/22 for approval before submit to the Church Council for approval.
• The Finance Committee will meet on Sunday, 10/22, at 1:00 pm. in the chapel. Members are Mr. Eugene Wong, Mr. Edward Wong, Mr. Brendan Huang, Mr. Thomas Li, Mrs. Adrienne Lieu, Mr. Joe Yee, Mrs. Junie Collins, Mrs. Kathy Lau and Rev. Ernest Kan.
• We are going to replace our old steel chairs and tables with much lighter ones. You are welcome to take them back home if you want to get some after register with the Board of Trustees members. After November, we will donate them to our sister United Methodist Church.
• The Luncheon Fellowship will be on 10/22 after the 11:30 am Chinese-Speaking Worship Service. Please mark your calendar & plan to stay for the fellowship with your church family.
• The Mission Committee invites you to support the ‘Operation Christmas Child’ to pack Christmas presents for the 3rd World children who needs your help. If you have shoeboxes with lids, please bring them to Eugene. Each box requires a $7 shipping charge. If you want to donate the gifts to fill the box or boxes, please give your generous donation to Eugene.
• We will have the Joint Choir singing on the Joint Chinese Thanksgiving Sunday (11/19). The Joint Choir will be conducted by Mrs. Celia Kan. Every one is welcome. Please join us on every Sunday, starting from 10/8, from 12:30—1:30 pm in the Sanctuary.
• The Board of Directors of the Chinese Christian Union will meet at the Chinese Independent Baptist Church on 10/17 at 2:00 PM. Mrs. Betty Chia, Mr. Thomas Xiao and Rev. Ernest Kan are our delegates.

• We will host the Mid-Autumn Festival in our church on 10/1 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. We want to outreach to the community and preach the gospel to them. We will have game booths like, art, ping pong ball in the bucket, rings in the bottle, marble in water with chopsticks, snack & drink, etc. For details and volunteering, please contact Mr. Edward Wong. Please pray and invite your family and friends to come.

• Rev. Ernest Kan is invited to officiate the pastor ordination Service at Toronto Chinese Methodist Church in Canada. Pastor Kan and Mrs. Celia Kan flew to Toronto on Friday and will be back to the Bay Area on Tuesday. May the Lord watch over their trip.

• There will be a prayer meeting at the Chinese worship service every Sunday. If you would like to participate, please gather in the chancel area of the sanctuary. • Only July 8th, from 5:30 – 9:00pm, we shall have a Grad Night in honor of Class of 2017. Come and celebrate our graduates this year as they move on to their next phase in life. Please let Joshua Wong know if you are coming by July 1st as we need a headcount for food and seating. Parents of graduates are cordially invited.
• The Sunday School will have the Promotion Sunday on July 9 at 10:00am at Social Hall. Parents are invited to come and to support your children. We will have the Combined Chinese Sunday Service at 11:00am.
• The English Missions Committee will meet today at 2:00pm in the 4th floor.
• The Methodist Fellowship Group will meet today in the Chapel at 2:00pm. Members please come.
• The Bishop together with her cabinet appointed Rev. Ernest Kan back to our church.
• As a result of traffic rearrangement caused by the Pride Parade. Ms. Monica Le cannot come to the church to prepare our lunch. Therefore, the Luncheon Fellowship is going to be postponed later. Sorry for the inconvenience.
• There is a hearing on the opening of medical marijuana outlet (MCD) at 2505 Noriega Street in San Francisco. We have members living in tis area who might be affected by this presence. The Chinese Christian Union has learnt about this issue and would encourage member churches to voice out our view on these. Please use the information inserted in this program to voice your concern.

• There will be a prayer meeting at the Chinese worship service every Sunday. If you would like to participate, please gather in the chancel area of the sanctuary. • Next Sunday is our Father’s Day Sunday Service. We are going to have a joint service for the Chinese groups, the 10:15am and 11:30am. The joint Chinese service will be at 11:00am.
• Church Retreat Fundraising will service English Breakfast on June 18th, from 10:00am. Please reserve the date.
• Summer Church Retreat will be held from August 6 to 9 at Redwood Christian Park. Miss Katrina Sun is the Chairperson of the Retreat. Please pray for the committee. The speaker for the Chinese group will be Rev. Homan Yeung and the speaker for the English group will be Pastor Tim Leung. Please pray.
• The Luncheon Fellowship will be on 6/25 after the 11:30am Chinese-Speaking Worship Service. Please mark your calendar and plan to stay for the fellowship with your church family.
• The Chinese Mission Committee is going to have an Evangelistic Meeting Meeting at Dr. Daniel Wu’s house on July 29 in the afternoon. Please save the date.

Last Sunday, the Administrative Council approved Ms. Monica Le to be the Vice-President of the Council, Mr. Brendan Huang and Mr. Ken Yee to be our delegates to the 2017 Cal-Nev Annual Conference of the CUMC which will be held from Wednesday, June 21 to 24 at Hyatt Regency of Burlingame.

CLAM (Conference Lay Minister) is a ministry to support the local church ministries. Faithful and committed members of the church are encouraged to be trained as Lay Ministers to help their local churches, or other local churches in the Annual Conference to do the ministry. The Cantonese CLAM program will be taken care by Rev. Ernest Kan. The Cantonese training program will be held on every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month at 10-12pm.

The San Francisco Chinese Christian Union (SFCCU) will have monthly meeting on 5/16 from 2:00-4:00pm in Cumberland Chinese Presbyterian Church in Chinatown. Mrs. Betty Chia, Mr. Thomas Xiao, and Rev. Ernest Kan are our delegates.

The Women Association of the San Francisco Chinese Christian Union will host a retreat on Saturday, 5/27, from 10:30am to 2:00pm at the First Chinese Baptist Church at 1 Waverly Place, Chinatown. Rev. Ernest Kan is the key-note speaker. The theme is “The Place of a Woman in the Bible.” There will be luncheon and the ticket is $3 each. Please get the ticket from Mrs. Betty Chia. Please pray.
